Infertility with Chandra Oliver

How do you think biblically about infertility? Chandra Oliver joins Karen Hodge to share how her experience with infertility has grown her faith and given her eyes to see the opportunities God has given her to be fruitful for God’s Kingdom.

Discussion Questions:

  • How is the church on earth a picture of heaven?
  • How does the church extend your influence beyond biology?
  • How can someone become your son or daughter in the faith?
  • Respond with your own experience with “Man plans and God directs.”
  • How can waiting produce a godly focused longing?
  • How does God’s sovereignty and goodness determine how you view your circumstances?

About the Speaker:

 Chandra Oliver

Chandra is originally from Oklahoma, and now lives in the state of Washington with her husband Matthew and two felines (Ruby and Ninja). Chandra’s initial experience with women’s ministry was in 2004 shortly after the local church plant they attended became a particular church in the PCA. Matthew was ordained as a ruling elder and Chandra was asked to help establish the women’s ministry. At a complete loss as to where to start, Chandra attended the PCA’s Women’s Leadership Training in Atlanta. Leadership Training was a first taste of a Biblical understanding of womanhood. As her love for women’s ministry grew, she accepted the position of PresWIC president for the North Texas Presbytery, and later served as a regional advisor for women’s ministry in the PCA.

In 2011, Matthew graduated from Westminster Theological Seminary and was ordained as a teaching elder in the PCA, with a specific call as a chaplain to the U.S. Army. This new season of military life has now led Chandra to work with PCA military wives; applying the rich truths of Biblical Womanhood to the context of military life.

Chandra has a variety of interests and hobbies, including reading, gardening, and entertaining. Most recently, she has been studying photography and considering further education in Art Therapy.
